About the client
Te Ipukarea Research Institute, a division of AUT, is dedicated to preserving and promoting Māori and Cook Island languages and culture. Recognising the importance of digitalising the Niue language, the institute sought a technology partner to develop a platform to preserve and make the Niue language accessible to a broader audience of learners and enthusiasts.

The underlying technology uses the existing Te Aka Māori Dictionary app as its foundation. With permission, the Dynamo6 team adapted the Te Aka Dictionary app design and database to suit the specific characteristics of the Niue language. This efficient approach allowed for a rapid development cycle and minimised costs.
