As more and more businesses move towards the cloud, maintaining on-premise Windows Servers could leave your business trailing behind your competitors. AWS provides an SOS, enabling your business to migrate into newer supported Microsoft Server versions.
say bye to applications in end of support
Since 2008, AWS has been providing the ability to run Windows Server instances. They provide a programme to migrate legacy Windows Server applications into AWS infrastructure without a code change. Yes, you read that correctly, no code changes!
By migrating your workloads into AWS, your legacy applications like Microsoft SharePoint and Exchange can be moved to the latest, supported versions of Windows Server on AWS. You can select from a number of Windows Server versions including the latest version, Windows Server 2019.
AWS is a Microsoft Partner and has authorisation from Microsoft to transfer old Microsoft software licences, into newer supported versions instead. They also have an active support agreement with Microsoft.
(For the full details of the Window and AWS agreement, see AWS’s Windows FAQs.)
